Exploring communication skills that can help you engage with students in an inclusive, safe, and supportive manner. These skills will prepare you to engage with students, create a safe and welcoming space, and practice cultural humility.

Presented by: Theresa N. Eaves, MHC-LP (she/they) is a clinical mental health counselor serving at Molloy University's Health & Wellness Department. Theresa holds a dual role as Molloy's Community Wellness Coordinator and the Student Counseling Center's (SCC) Clinical Counselor. Theresa engages in culturally responsive person-centered counseling while following the SCC's solution focused approach. This means, Theresa remains curious, open, and compassionate while collaborating with an individual to learn how to best support them while they are working toward a specific goal. Through the Community Wellness Coordinator role, Theresa works hard to create programs that increase awareness regarding overall wellness with and emphasis on the following two messages: Mental Health is Health and Your Wellness is Your Community's Wellness.
