Join us for an in-person professional development event for teachers, administrators, school social workers, school counselors, school nurses, mental health counselors, support staff, student leaders, parents, and others who wish to support Long Island and New York City im/migrant students' mental health. There is no charge for the conference or for credits. 

Tentative Schedule

  • 7:30 am    Registration Begins, Public Square Lobby

  • 8 - 8:45 am Self-care and Inner Work Activities: Public yoga class and meditation, Public Square Lawn, please feel free to wear comfortable clothing and bring your own mat

  • 8:00-8:45 am Coffee and Light Breakfast, Public Square Lobby

  • 9:00-10:00 am Expert Panel: The history of immigration in NYC and Long Island, current challenges faced by recently arrived im/migrant families, and how schools are innovating to meet im/migrant student’s mental health needs, Madison Theater. Panelists include:

  • Noon-1 pm Keynote Speaker: Tania Romero, LMSW, SIFI-Supervisor of Social Workers-Consortium, Internationals and Outward Bound Schools, NYC Department of Education, Madison Theater, "How to Center the Mental Health Needs of Im/migrant Students in Schools"

  • 1-2 pm : Self-care and Inner Work Activities

 

Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE)
Molloy University is an approved Sponsor of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), sponsor number 23216. All education conferences are offered for CTLE credit and the hours awarded will vary depending upon the length of the conference. CTLE certificates of completion are awarded at the conclusion of the conference.

Social Work Continuing Education Credit
Molloy University, Continuing Education & Professional Development Social Work CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0110 and that a number of sessions offered for the Conference have been approved for Social Work CE credit.

Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs)
Molloy University, Division of Continuing Education & Professional Development is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. #MHC-0052. 

Nursing Continuing Education Credit
Molloy University is an approved provider of continuing education nursing education by the New Jersey State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
